MP3: The Deadline Shakes, “Sweeten the Deal”

The Deadline Shakes is a new band based out of the burgeoning Glasgow music scene.  "Sweeten the Deal" is the band's first single, a delicious slice of indie folk-pop in the vein of the New Pornographers.  (Side note: I also thought I heard a bit of Belle and Sebastian in there, but my wife said no.  So there's that.)  With lines like, "Because I'm lonely and desperate / How can you resist that?," it's got the witty, self-deprecating humor to match its sunny guitars.
